How long does it take to detox from painkillers

For the body to physically detox from pain meds. that would be 3 days. But mentally it could be much longer. I would not recommend doing this on ur own. I highly reco. that u get medical help with this. Such as a trement center. They do use detox meds. Some pain meds. can be very dangerous to detox off of , & have horrrible side effects. Once ur detoxed off of the physically then u have to deal with the mental aspect of the addiction which is really TUFF. trust me I know Im a recovering addict my self. It is truly the most difficult job i've ever had to do. But it is well worth it. Theres no way u can do it by yourself. That is unless u was just chemicaly dependant on them.. What I mean by that is if u took them because u were prescribed them by a doctor & did not abuse them. u took them as directed for x amount of days, or yrs. theres a difference. If u do need help for addiction go to na.org & serch ur state & city this will get u help. theres no dues or fees. the only requirement for membership is the desire to stop using.

Depending on what kind of pain killers it could take a couple days to a week to fully detox. Drink lots of water it will help flush it out of your body.
