Bad idea, I had a couple *unrevealed substance*, before I went to get my last tattoo, it was a really big tattoo and took a few hours. I almost passed out, and was really embarassed that I kept falling over, all because I was going through alot of sticks, and I had partaken in the *unrevealed substance*. Save yourself a bad time at the tattoo studio, do not take it.
pain killers thim the blood therefore causes excess bleeding which then causes rather large scabs
you dont need pain killers the pain is very bearable im a sook and i have 3 tattoos and im getting another in 2 weeks.
just tough it out
asprin thins the blood just dont take anything with asprin in it and you will be just fine
Some over the counter pain relivers thin your blood, just like alcohol. If you go and get a tattoo, your blood will be thinner and it will come out faster. Call the place you want to get tattooed. Ask them what they recommend. Some places have numbing cream or shots that you can take before the tattoo, but those cost extra.
Do not take aspirin. It impairs ur ability to clot, so it can make u bleed more during the tattoo & the ink may migrate/blur once applied.
Acetominophen (Tylenol) is OK but wo not do a whole lot for u in this situation. It is best for generalized pain like a headache or muscle soreness. I'd skip it.
I am not sure about naproxen products like Aleve, but here is what works for me:
Ibuprofen (Advil) is the best choice because it is a painkiller & an anti-inflammatory. Because it helps reduce swelling, ur tattooed skin will be less sensitive. I use Advil in combination with a topical lidocaine gel called Topicaine. Apply Topicaine to the area where u will be getting tattooed about 30-45 minutes before ur appointment to allow it to absorb into ur skin. Your artist will need to wipe it off before starting the tattoo, but that is OK. Re-apply it between stages - like between the outline & the shading, shading & color - & wait about 5-10 minutes with the gel on before getting started again.
dont try it. you will bleed more i have 9 tats so i no a bit. Eat chocolate or any suger it dont seem to hert as much, dont no why. Good luck
I have never heard of being able to take anything before a tattoo. If you really want a tat, you need to put up with the pain.. that is what makes getting a tattoo exciting. My first tattoo took 3 hours, it felt like someone was burning me with a lighter the whole 3 hours, but it looks awesome and worth the pain.
if your that worried about the pain talk to the artist the do have some new thing they came out with a few years back i think it like a numbing cream or somehting . it is really not that bad or painful .. but no painkillers they bad .. make sure you eat before you go.
Yeah u need to be carefull of that, just deal with the pain, its really not all that bad. At least I dont think so. I have five tattoo is right now & by weeks end I will have two more.
One is a big one, its a set of stars & swirls that start under the left of my left breast & winds up my chest towards & onto my left shoulder, I am not worried about the pain a bit. In fact I almost find it enjoyable. The second one is a custom drawn up pinup girl thats going on my half sleeve.
So.. if its worth it to u to get body art, u will manage the little bit of pain that goes with it. It is all a part of the experience! =)
it is recommended to not take any ''painkillers'' (especially ones that contain aspirin) because they can thin out ur blood & can affect the way ur skin reacts to the tattoo. painkillers can also affect the way ur tattoo heals, because they reduce blood clotting & will slow down the healing process. this can all affect the way ur skin retains the ink so i would say if u really want a tattoo then suck it up & deal with the pain. it is really not that bad i promise.
if u absolutely have to take something, u can try the recommended dosage of name brand tylenol BUT u should consult with ur tattoo artist first.
No, but why would you want to. The pain is part of the tattoo experience. If you can not handle it you should not be getting a tattoo.
I have always taken 4 Tylenol before a tattoo. I have 7. Aspirin thins the blood, so stay away from that. Also, painkillers like opiates are not a good idea. They can make you drowsy.
Yes, but just to be safe maybe not Asprin.
But for what its worth, it wo not make any difference if you are taking them to prevent the pain of getting a tattoo!
It is still going to tingle I am afraid!!!!
I would buy numbing cream and put it on the spot where you would get a tattoo. It really does work.
I have never heard that it causes bleeding. If you have a high pill tolerance then you can take one. But if you look groggy from the pill then they will nto do the tattoo. They do not hurt that bad so you should not need one. Just bring a friend ot take your mind off it and you will be fine.
That probably would not make much of a difference. Please do not do something silly like sedate yourself, you should never get a tattoo doped out anyways because it thins out your blood too much.
In my state you have to sign a waiver stating you are sober before you get a tattoo or a piercing.
I hope this helps.it gives some tips on how to cope.
