One day a few years back, l took probably between 10-14 Extra Strength Tylenol 500mg over the duration of...I am going to say 9-10 hours. How many Ex.Str.Ty is 500s would it take to cause problems? l think the bottles say 8 in 24 hours, but that is likely a low end number to protect themselves.
actually, some hospital stantards are not to exceedd 5,000mg of acetaminophen within a 24 hour period (10 extra strength tylenol). Acetaminophen is the main ingredient in tylenol. Extra strength tylenol contains 500mg per tablet of acetaminophen. By exceeding this amount you could put a strain on some of you organs (such as your liver) especially if you drink alcohol with tylenol
Do not do this again. Even one excess dose has been found to cause liver damage.

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should see your doctor and get your liver checked out because there is a reason that the bottle says only 8 ES Tylenol pills per day. That much will certainly hurt your liver. Please do not do that again. Plus you need to get the pain checked out anyway.
This is not the low end of dosing - it is the maximum. Too much tylenol can cause liver damage even in people using the appropriate dosing. Anything over that is asking for trouble. Tylenol is not an innocent med. Do you want to be on the liver transplant list soon? If not, do not exceed the dosing listed on the package.
